Not Far from the Sea
Before we get any further, we would like to explain that just because the rental you have chosen doesn’t sit on the beach, it doesn’t mean that you will be stuck in the boonies somewhere far from the ocean’s roar. In a town like Rocky Point, the beach is nearly always within hearing distance of the surf and our properties will always be close by. There are 14 beaches in Rocky Point and our town isn’t that large, making it impossible to go far without landing on one or the other. And the beaches that are the most popular will also have the most FMI Rentals retreats nearby, so let’s take a few moments to discuss the beaches and why you may prefer one over the other.
Sandy Beach
Sandy Beach may not have an innovative name, but it is the most popular of the Rocky Point Beaches, offering golden sands that frame blue waters that are calm, making it popular with families. This long stretch of beach takes up approximately 5 miles of prime Rocky Point acreage and is also where some of the most popular clubs, restaurants, and shops so when you stay in one of our rentals near Sandy Beach, and there are a lot of them, you will also be close to some of the most fun area activities!
Playa Hermosa (AKA Playa Bonita)
Our next popular stretch of sand and sea is known by two names, Playa Hermosa (which means beautiful beach), and Playa Bonita (which means pretty beach), and we think that both names fit this area perfectly. This beach is popular, not just to tourists, but is also where the locals play and it is also one of the beaches offering a large number of resort vacation rentals. Smaller than Sandy Beach, this one is only about a mile long, it also offers the calm waters that make moms feel safer and may often feature the remnants of sandcastles destroyed by tide and the people while serving as a reminder that families play here. Our properties near Playa Hermosa will almost always be family homes.
Mirador Beach
Mirador Beach is where you may gain a better understanding as to why our town is named Rocky Point, offering not just sandy beaches, but rocky tide pools that offer a fascinating display of sea life, something your children will never tire of seeing. This beach is also located just down the way from Old Port, where iconic restaurants and wonderful shops will give guests plenty of options for shopping, dining, and exploring and because we offer a selection of properties near Old Port and Mirador Beach, you will never have far to go to get home and relax. And although Sandy Beach offers any clubs, the iconic night spots, the ones you think of when you think about our town, are located along the shores of this wonderful beach. Manny’s Beach Club is the most iconic Rocky Point night spot and is one that can be found on Mirador Beach.
Mi Playa
Mi Playa (my beach) is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered, and is extremely popular with the locals, giving visitors a more authentic peek into Rocky Point life. The adventurous may fall in love with the vibe, this is definitely a family beach and is one where there will be families grilling, Mexican music playing, and lots of happy children. It is also a popular spot for taking the most beautiful photographs, the rocks adding a haunting beauty to every picture taken and yes, we will probably offer properties that are not far from this local favorite as well. In spite of the families that play here, however, strong currents do not make this a good swimming beach.

Light Filled Spaces Will Bring You Joy
With over 330 days of sunshine in Rocky Point you would have to expect that our properties will be filled with light and you will be right. Stepping inside for the first time is an experience that won’t be soon forgotten and as you stand on the doorstep of your home sweet vacation home, your most comfortable adventures will begin. It’s hard to know where to start your tour of luxury, but we think we will head into the living room, where large windows, comfortable seating, and state of the art televisions will make you want to spend some time at home relaxing. Summer visitors will appreciate air conditioning and ceiling fans, and winter visitors (Yes, we know this is a summer tale, but it never hurts to provide extra information!) may find that the space they chose offers a fireplace that adds an extra layer of warmth and romance to their vacation experience. Whatever season you visit, however, the living room will always provide a wonderful spot for a traditional afternoon siesta.
Not Always an Open Concept Floor Plan
Americans are used to the open concept floor plans in their homes and vacation rentals and although you will find those in some of our FMI Rentals, our old country vibe often delineates a separate room for each space and so the dining room, a spot where meals will be eaten, games will be played, and conversations will be held, may be separate from the dining room. Still offering windows that look out into the yard and a large table surrounded by enough chairs for every seat in your traveling party. There aren’t that many rainy days in Rocky Point, but when the clouds do open up and you find yourself staying in to wait out the storm, you may sit at the dining table, sipping coffee in the morning or wine in the evening and congratulating yourself on choosing our 2-bedroom rentals at Marina Pinacate resort for your vacation accommodations!

Rocky Point is known for its superior selection of restaurants, many serving the freshest seafood you have ever tasted, but there will be times during your summer adventures that you may want to utilize the kitchens of our seasonal sanctuaries. Maybe you like the idea of your family waking up to a hearty breakfast that you prepared yourself, saving money and time, before you start your day of play, or maybe your time at Sandy Beach tired you out enough that the thought of making any effort at all, i.e. putting on clothes that aren’t bathing suits, tires you even more and you decide that sandwiches and margaritas for dinner sounds like a gourmet meal. Whatever your reason for staying in and preparing a meal at home, our fully equipped kitchens will make the experience one that doesn’t feel like you are doing chores.
The Backyard Oasis
Your summer sanctuary may not be sitting on the golden sands of Playa Hermosa, but when you step out the back door to explore all we offer out there, you probably aren’t going to mind one bit, especially when you see the crystal-clear pool waiting for you to cannonball into. Many people don’t really like to swim in the sea, knowing humans aren’t the only ones swimming and when the day’s heat gets to be a little much, a cool swim in the pool will be your favorite amenity. These outdoor spaces may also feature barbecue grills, outdoor bars, and many different seating options. Everyone knows that you need different seats for different activities and maybe you want to sit out on cushioned chairs and discuss the adventures you still have in store for you or maybe, after a fishing excursion earlier in the day, you will decide that grilling your catch of the day and devouring it at picnic or patio tables resting under pergolas or covered patios is the perfect way to enjoy a meal. Some retreats may offer rooftop patios, others may feature loungers on baja shelves in the pool, and still others might offer a selection of lounge chairs surrounding the pool.

After a nighttime swim, coming back inside to the air conditioned coolness of our near the beach retreats will prepare you for a night of sleep so deep you will soon learn what it means to wake up feeling refreshed and not sleepy at all. The bedrooms of these spaces are designed for maximum comfort, anchored by premium beds topped with the softest of linens. Most bedrooms will feature their own televisions in case you want to relax a little watching your favorite shows. En suite baths in the primary suites may feature deep tubs for soaking, steam showers, and lots of colorful Mexican tiles, that won’t have anything to do with your comfort but are so much fun you may start to wonder if you should use similar tiles in your own bathrooms back home.
