Rocky Point is known for its beautiful beaches, fantastic fishing opportunities, and for the music that rocks the roof off most of the clubs and night spots in the area and some of your favorite performers may be hitting the stage. Even better? There really aren’t any roofs in these clubs, as the music plays outside on the sand with the sea playing accompaniment in the background! Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, an American band from Arizona, felt so much at home in Rocky Point that they opened their own bar, Banditos, a bar that is often the site of exciting music performances, not just by them, but by musicians from all over. Roger Clyne’s Singer/Songwriter Summit, held April 4th through April 6th at Banditos and JJ’s Cantina (another popular night spot) is the perfect example, offering three days of music you won’t be able to avoid dancing and singing along to. Roger Clyne & the Peacemakers, Chuck Prophet & Stephanie Finch, Jim Dalton, Miles Nielsen, Kelly Steward, and Andrew Leahy are all scheduled to perform.
Easter Is the New Christmas
For us, Easter is as popular as Christmas, if not more so, and during your visit you can count on there being church services, celebrations, and beach days. Held on April 20th in 2025, sunny skies and temperatures that are tiptoeing near 80 degrees make everyone want to spend some time at the beach, after Mass concludes, of course. The sands will be crowded on Easter Sunday, so get there early and stake your claim on your own piece of sandy beach. Street vendors will be selling all manners of delicious food, and even though it is a holiday, many shops will be open offering great deals on this holy day of celebration. The churches welcome everyone, so be sure to drop in for a sunrise service, but if you feel a little out of place visiting a new church where you might not even speak the language, a sunrise walk along the sandy beaches of Rocky Point will provide an experience that will bring you closer to the heavens. Watching the world come awake around you as the waters of the Sea of Cortez crash against the shoreline will make you believe in bigger things, bringing peace and joy to your heart.

The beautiful weather of Rocky Point also makes the town a golf paradise and on April 26th, JJ’s Cantina One Club Open adds a unique twist to your favorite sport, but only when the tide goes out! Setting up an 18-hole course, the holes will be the size of hula hoops, in Cholla Bay after the tide has gone out, the rules are simple. You can only use one club, and you are encouraged to wear your most unusual golf clothing, as you make your way around Cholla Bay, hitting the ball into the holes. The game starts at 5 PM and all golfers are expected to be done with their game by sunset at 7:09, and while all of the fun is going on there will be live music, your favorite drinks will be flowing, and, best of all, prizes will be awarded to the golfer with the lowest score and the funkiest costume!
