Free Internet/Wi-Fi
This first amenity really is a no-brainer, especially as we are working from home more than ever and there is no law that states it has to be your home you are working from. Hotels did catch on to the importance of internet at one point but saw it as another way to gouge customers charging outrageous fees to be able to use it. Our FMI Rentals retreats provide Wi-Fi for free, enabling guests to work from home, update their social network sites, and maybe upload a video or two to make those who weren’t able to join in the fun feel horribly jealous!
All the Linens
Although it may be hard to believe, there are some vacation rentals that charge guests to use their linens, a practice we find ridiculous. Silky bed linens, soft and fluffy bathroom towels, and even large and colorful beach towels are provided for our guests, and no, we wouldn’t think of charging you for the privilege.
Coffee Makers, Tea Kettles, or Blenders
Obviously we are starting out with the smaller amenities, but just because they aren’t large or glamorous, it doesn’t mean you wouldn’t miss them if they weren’t there. Our kitchens are fully equipped with dishes, silverware, glassware, and pots and pans, as well as the big appliances (refrigerators, ranges, and dishwashers) but caffeine is important and margaritas are a dire necessity when vacationing Mexico, so coffee makers, tea kettles (or Keurigs that offer both) and blenders will be found on the counters or in the cabinets of your Rocky Point sanctuary.
Barbecue Grills
It may not be something you thought about when you first began planning this vacation, but a barbecue grill comes in very handy, especially when it comes to preparing your catch of the day. Fishing is a big deal here in Rocky Point and although there are restaurants that will clean and prepare your fish for a fee, there is a satisfaction you will get from doing it all yourself and as the scent wafts through the yard and the neighborhood, you can feel pride in addition to the anticipation of a really good meal.
Pet Friendly
You love every member of your family, and it doesn’t seem right that you have to leave the most loyal one behind, and with our pet friendly escapes, you won’t have to. We love our pets and welcome yours in these spaces that are comfortable, colorful, and designed for families. Even better, the homes we offer that accept your pets aren’t the bottom of the barrel properties, the ones no one wants, because first of all, we don’t offer any bottom of the barrel properties, and secondly, well, there is no other reason needed. Our pet friendly homes will be filled with all manner of amenities and will make everyone feel at home even as they are quite possibly thousands of miles away from their own.
Laundry Rooms or Closet
Whether this is your first trip to Rocky Point or your seventh journey to paradise you already know that you will be doing a LOT of shopping, and if you have traveled much before you also know the anxiety you get while standing in front of the ticket agent as he places your bag on the scale to determine if it is within the allowed weight limits. We tell ourselves we won’t shop as much every time we leave our hometowns, and every time we fail, but that’s ok here. Many of our properties come with fully equipped laundry rooms or laundry closets, allowing guests to pack fewer clothes than they might have, washing them when needed, and saving room for all the treasures you will find during your shopping expeditions in Rocky Point. No anxiety needed.
Televisions
Even in Mexico you will want to watch tv and all of our properties will offer updated models, flat screens that are large, and many will be smart ones so you can stream all of your favorite shows. Maybe you will use them, maybe they will never be turned on, but isn’t it nice knowing they are there if the desire arises?
Fireplace or Firepit
Although you won’t ever freeze, winter nights in Rocky Point can get a bit chilly and even if it isn’t really cold, a fire in a fireplace can be quite romantic. Other homes may offer firepits in the yard, providing the perfect spots to gather round, sipping hot cocoa (or whatever beverage you prefer) and maybe telling your favorite ghost stories. Just don’t hold us responsible for a night of little or no sleep after because the nightmares are all on you!
Ocean Views
We are leaving the more mundane amenities now, heading in the direction of luxurious and even wow inspiring and nothing fits that description better than the views of the ocean visible from many of our south of the border sanctuaries. Some homes may even offer sandy beaches and blue waters in the place of backyards, others may just offer peeks of the sea in between other properties, but the serenity that comes from the Sea of Cortez will be felt in every escape.
Game Room
As we said earlier, travelers are demanding more from their vacation homes and part of that more is the entertainment factor. Yes, many properties provide board games tucked away in cabinets, and the televisions may me be ideal for binge watching movies on a rainy night, but a game room will be appreciated at any time during your Rocky Point stay. We always say that the family that plays together stays together and after a long day of beach fun and vacation antics, who doesn’t want to retire to the game room, perhaps to play a game of pool?
Office Spaces
There is nothing more frustrating during a vacation when one person is working, perhaps engaged in a virtual meeting, and expects everyone else to tiptoe around them and stay quiet. Vacations are meant to be loud and raucous affairs and although we appreciate that you may not have been able to participate in this getaway without being able to work from home, it really isn’t fair to everyone else. With that being said, we at FMI Rentals try to think of everything and you may find a quiet desk area tucked away in a secluded corner of the rental you have chosen to make your own, perfect for working peacefully without being interrupted by the fun and noise of all the other vacationers.

We will say that we have never completely understood exercising while vacationing, but we know there are plenty of people who do not like to miss a workout and so you may find a fitness room or at the very least, some equipment that will keep you on the right track during your stay. Yoga equipment can also often be found in these spaces and the rooms in which they are located may add an extra element of peace and serenity to your posing times and yoga adventures.
Rooftop Decks
We are going to take this party outside to where more wonderful amenities await. Starting from the top, we are proud to offer rooftop decks on some of our most sought after retreats, providing an ideal spot to enjoy panoramic views. Sunsets will touch your soul from this vantage point and views of the seas that are never far from any of our Rocky Point hideaways will make your heart ache when you have to leave them at the end of your stay. These rooftop spots also make a great spot for a fiesta and as you play music, sip margaritas or Modelos, and just relax with the people who bring you the greatest joy,
Balconies or Patios Lined with Chairs
You have come all of this way and as comfortable as it is inside our homes, the exterior areas will provide comfort as well. Rocking chairs facing the direction of the sea, the sunrise, and the sunset, padded outside lounges where naps may take place and where the adventures you have enjoyed are replayed in your dreams. Patio tables will allow you to extend your outdoor time and as you devour that triggerfish you caught from the shore, we think it will taste even sweeter, simply because you were able to enjoy it al fresco.
Outdoor Showers
The sand that feels so good when you bury your toes in it doesn’t bring as much pleasure when its tracked into your property, and an outdoor shower can help keep those grains of sand at a minimum. Depending on where they are located, they can also be a great place to enjoy a leisurely shower, away from prying eyes, but under the open skies.
Hammocks for Relaxation
A nap on hammock while the sun is shining and sea breezes gently rock you is one of life’s greatest luxuries, and some of our Rocky Point retreats will offer those as well. Some may even be heated, making year round swimming a thing, but even if the pool in your backyard isn’t heated, swimming season lasts far longer south of the border than you may be used to in your midwestern home town.
