For many people, the winter of 2025 has been a long and harsh one, one that shows no end in sight, and if you have had enough of gray skies and nasty weather, the beaches of Rocky Point are waiting to give you an Easter vacation you never knew was possible. The temperatures are nudging toward summer, just warm enough to make you think about dipping your toes in the waters of the Sea of Cortez, but not so hot that you don’t want to do anything but hang around your relaxing and comfortable FMI Rentals holiday hideaway. This guide to planning your first Rocky Point Easter getaway and to a stay in our welcoming abodes will give you a little extra patience when dealing with that unexpected snowstorm, because you know that soon you will be at the beach!
Different Is Good
First, let’s talk about the differences between a Mexican Easter and an American one. You’re not going to see an Easter Bunny sitting in a mall lobby sitting on a throne with crying children sitting on his lap, nor will there be Easter egg hunts or rolls, or even Easter bonnet costumes that take place in the US on the holiday. In Mexico, we have a strong faith, and the holiday is about celebrating that faith. There will be processionals in the streets, festivities that include the three F’s—food, faith, and family—and our celebrations don’t last just one day but begin weeks in advance. On Palm Sunday, palm fronds woven into crosses are sold outside churches, and during Holy Week, a reenactment of Jesus’s death on the cross is a major part of the holiday. But the best part about all the differences is the knowledge that you chose FMI Rentals and the things you want to stay the same will be exactly as you want them.

A Walk at Sunrise
The beaches of Rocky Point provide endless ways to find peace and tranquility and since you are used to the sunrise services of your church back home, why not continue the tradition of waking up before the sun does on Easter Sunday. Have your own private sunrise service, walking barefoot on the sand, feeling the water curl around your ankles and feet, and feeling the magic of the Sea of Cortez fill your soul with hope. These quiet moments enjoyed before the rest of the world awakens will soon be the memories you cherish. And even better, no one will judge you when you crawl back between the sheets of your most comfortable bed for a few more hours of sleep.
Back to the Beach
Now that you have rested and are ready for more Easter adventures, chances are your flip flops will take you back to the beach for a few hours of sun and surf. Stake your claim on a piece of the beach, marking your territory with colorful beach towels, chairs, and an umbrella that will provide a little protection against the sun’s harsh rays. We don’t need to tell you how to play while you’re on the beach, you’ve been dreaming about these moments forever, but we can suggest ham sandwiches for lunch and maybe a thermos filled with Green Apple Moscato Sangria will bring a touch of the holiday to your beachy shenanigans!

Will There Be an Easter Brunch?
This is one tradition that you might want to save for another year, although we can promise that more than a few restaurants will be open on that holy Sunday, so mom won’t have to cook if she doesn’t want to. The food may not be the brunch dishes you are used to, but sometimes a change can do a body good and honestly, while in Mexico you know you want to fill up on the authentic dishes that most restaurants will serve. Who deemed ham the official food of Easter when carne asada is so flavorful and tacos taste like a party in your mouth?
Traditionally Yours
Of course, you can follow all your favorite traditions without leaving your FMI Rentals holiday hideaway, giving you the best of both worlds. Boil eggs and decorate them on picnic tables that look out over the sea, create an Easter brunch with all your favorite foods. (Sam’s Club is in Rocky Point, and yes, you will be able to find your Easter ham inside!) Slip into your alter ego, the Easter Bunny, while the children are sleeping and hop around the yard, balcony, or even the house hiding the eggs you decorated earlier in the trip for your kids to find. Your Easter in 2025 may look a little different than the ones you’ve enjoyed in the past, but we promise that it will be fulfilling and exciting. Reserve your favorite holiday hideaway today!
